Yesteryear's House.... The fix...

When everything was opened up more issues were found... ain't that the way though...
flashed everything...
added gussets to hold up the window..
changed out the roof to 22oz copper...

tearing into it...

That's sharp. I watched one of Mike Holmes' shows where he was in a fairly new housing development and a homeowner had water infiltrating behind his house wrap because the windows were installed improperly. It turned out that every house in the neighborhood had the problem because it was all the same builder. They wound up having to replace all the sheathing.

That added a lot of class to the home. Is that an acid wash,or paint on the copper? They must not have wanted the normal green oxide finish on the copper.

it's an acid wash, not deliberately, there's a chemical plant not too far away from the house...
it started to turn green...
