Wooden serving tray

Sandra wanted a wooden tray to carry our meals out to the back yard where we eat some times.
She said she wanted handles on it to carry it with. I went through all of my cabinet handles and then decided to just make them as a part of the tray.

I added felt to the bottom but she ask for little feet to raise it up so the felt did not get dirty.

If so, then...NO. the handles on the tray were cut on the band saw out of some scrap 2x12 pine I had left from an earlier project. As I told Chuck, the rest was from different woods I found in the shop.
I told Sandra, it is the only one exactly like it on the PLANET.

She is happy, I am happy.

The tray portion was a pine cutting board my son left in my shop when he picked up all his stuff. The sides of the tray were parts of an old pallet I took apart. Not sure what it was, not oak. The handles were scrap from that dressing table I made this last Christmas for Sandra. Pine also. The little feet are from cut offs on a cutting board I just made for one of my daughters Then I used dark walnut stain and polyurethane in two coats, then after rubbing it down with 00 steel wool, I sprayed it with High Gloss Lacquer.
She is happy

The whole thing was made with what ever I had is the shop.
With the prices of wood still being high, I have been trying to use up what ever I have on hand.

The bottom or tray part of it came from an old cutting board I found in the attic of my garage, not sure what type wood it was , I added a 1/8 inch sheet of plywood to cover the damaged "top" of the board and the juice grooves, the handles came from scrap 2/? left from Sandras dressing table I made, and the sides were from an old pallet I took apart. oak I think. Walnut stain, several coats of poly and a spray of high gloss at the end.
It was a fun one day project, including drying time.
I only posted it because no one has been posting their projects lately,
I hoped to entice others to post whatever they build.
