Two Year Old Nightmare Finally Handled (For Now)
For two years, my wood supply has been like a garden of weeds that's grown out of control. This past weekend, my gf was going to come over to teach me how to use QuickBooks, so I figured I would work on the shop instead of starting something, and having to quit in the middle of it. Well, her trip to the Ikea store stole her entire day, so I actually made serious progress on that nightmare. (Literally, guys, I could barely walk back there.) Seems that pile multiplied like rabbits; it grew and grew, till I had no space to walk back there.
I didn't realize I had so much room back there! I can go back to playing darts in my shop again! LOL I still need to organize the shelves, and now to clean my way to the front of the shop.

Is that your "NEW SHOP"?Last time I saw it you had room to have a barn dance.....There is some good looking boards there, lots of potential for some good signs. Now you won't be able to find the one you know you have, but can't remember where you put it. One of those "I remember it was right here, and when I cleaned up and organized, i put it where I could get it, now where was that"?

Yeah, Herb it is.... I can do a slow dance in there now, but a barn dance? That ability will never return lol The organization was of all the stray pieces that were all over the place, and the large live edge pieces that were placed on the floor under the shelves at least a year or more ago lol I also straightened out the wood in the lumber cart I made, and properly stacked them. Unfortunately, I had to pitch the pallets I had, because the wood shrunk up too much to do what I wanted with them. They're now holding Ken's plow off the ground. I didn't even touch the pieces on the shelves. Those are for another day. I didn't touch the pieces under my work bench, either; or the ones that landed on the sanding table... oh man - I have so much more to do lol

Looks like you have a little space above the ceiling joist for some longer boards. I have a catchall spot too , that someday I am going to dig into and surprise myself with what is on the bottom. I know there is an Onan Generator in there somewhere I was going to hook up at one time for emergency use, but never got around to it. every time we have a power failure I think about it, but forget about it fast when the power comes on.

@Herb Stoops We built a little "attic" up there for storage when we first had it built. It's used to house outdoor decorations, my crates of woodworking, my heaters, etc. My one regret is that we didn't put an access panel up there to reach in the back, cuz Lord knows my fat @$$ aint crawlin' up there! The whole damn thing will come crashin' down if I plunk my @$$ up there! Either Ken or Shawn get up there to find things.

Rotflmao, no comment on the first, but the latter was what I had visions of this big pile of rubble with Barbs head sticking up through the middle. You read my mind.HAHAHAOutoftheWoodwork wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 5:19 pmWhich one; my fat @$$ or my shop crashin' to the ground?
