Woodpecker joint bridges

These look like a good idea for some applications and for a change they aren't that expensive considering they are coming from Woodpecker. $70 for 24 of them. A person could just as easily make some too. I'd rip a strip off a 2 by 4 and cut it into about 3" lengths, then clamp a pair of strips together and drill about a 1" hole centered on the joint. Or they could be made out of 3/4ply by cutting a 1.5" wide strip and cutting it into 3" and 1" pieces. Use the 3" strip for the back and glue the 1" pieces on for the legs. Either method I'd then tape some clear box tape to the bottoms to prevent gluing them to the work.

I was thinking the opposite way. Drill the holes & then rip it in half. Cross cut to length.
Yes on the tape/wax the ends.
Only problem I see is getting the clamps & bridges all set up before the glue starts to tack.

Yeah, that could be a problem. More than once I've had to shift into panic mode when glue was starting to set and I was taking too long.

I suppose you could go ahead and stick the bridges to the jaws on the clamps with double sided tape. That would speed things up quite a bit.
