3D board

#1

Post by Papasombre »

As I wrote previously I made my first 3D board to decorate an apartment´s main door. It took a lot of time and some advices from you about the finishing. After a careful sanding (80, 120 and 240) I applied three coats of mineral oil and three more of Howard's bucther block conditioner.
I need to improve a lot regarding the techniques involved in this kind of project, nevertheless it looks very well.

You've inspired me, Alexis! Since I can't psychologically stand angular patterns, I'll make something as a gift; cutting board maybe?

That is a good use for that panel Alexis. Just keep working at it and I think you will develop the technique quickly.

Nice. I

Based on the title I was expecting a cutting board. I certainly did not expect to see center panel for door. Great concept. Now I need to find a door in need.

Hi, Jon.
Your funny reply made us (my wife and me) laugh. The used woods were recovered from boxes, pallets, and other uses as you can see from some blemishes on the board. That´s why I did not use them for a cutting board
