I made a bunch of these cheese slicers for Xmas presents this year. They went over well! Quite simple to make really, especially if you've made some cutting boards in the past.
i bought all my hardware from him but fair warning, if you're N. of 49, or anywhere other than the US, make sure he confirms that he's not shipping by courier! I Told him not to, and i explained about the couriers charging exorbitant 'brokerage 'fees but he shipped by FedEx anyway...cost me an extra $50. *((*(&%%!!!*

Re: Something Cheesy...
I found a Canadian supplier of the hardware....waaaay less expensive than the Amazon/Rockler kits, considering the hassle free shipping and currency exchange rates.

Re: Something Cheesy...
Just an update on suppliers of the hardware. Getting my slicer hardware from this gentleman now. He's in the US but he's excellent to deal with!
He picked up on the 'No Courier' shipping thing and it's been problem free with USPS ie no brokerage fees.
After all the dust settles it works out to $10 and change Canadian each, for a 10pack
The cheapest I've seen them on Amazon.ca is $14 Cdn./each, not including shipping.
