Soft Start Table Saw
Is there such a thing as a table saw with a soft start motor ? My new saw frightens the life out of those who happen to be in my shop when I fire her up,she really explodes in to action. Thanks for any advise,James.

My Bosch 4100 does have soft start. Other job-site, yes...not sure about shop saws.

Re: Soft Start Table Saw
Soft start requires soft start circuitry and circuitry is prone to failure. In my mind it's a lot like something with lots of bells and whistles. While the basic machine may be sound, the bells and whistles may not be. That however may be be offset by the the lesser torque stress put on the works during startup rather than full torque from regular startup. Depends on how beefy the components are to some extent. But it's also worth knowing what that soft start circuitry is worth if it needs replacing.

James, if you have the 745, here's a couple of videos for installing a soft start module...

Thank you Nick. According to the Jaycar catalogue online, their price is a tad under $30.00 for the soft start module. James.
