One of the problems in assessing the numbers in the first link was the lack of any effort by pathologists to determine factual cause of death and instead just attributing death to covid to back up the government's mandates.

Also keep in mind that many VA patients dying today are WWII vets of about 85-95 years old or older. We/they don't live forever, even with the best of healthcare.
