I have a saying, something akin to Murphy’s law, that no matter how large your shop is you will eventually fill it to over capacity. Yours looks about average Mike.

Another is that in any bureaucracy it's employees eventually get promoted to a position just above their level of competence.

That's 'The Peter Principle'. There was a lot more wisdom in that book, but that's the quote that stuck.

Let me see if I understand...you are on a (whatever) page...you highlight the URL, Ctrl C/Rightclick "Copy" then go back onto your post/reply and Ctrl V /Right click "Paste" and nothing appears in the post...?

We might need to check media settings... amazon might be a special setting that needs adjustment.

I use Win7Pro and Firefox. Why would the Amazon icon show up instead of the URL? There be Gremlins i tell you!

Not quite; it 'translates' the copied URL into an Amazon icon...exactly what I did the last time i mentioned this problem.
(Win 7Pro and Firefox).
https://www.amazon.com/Peter-Principle- ... 0062092065

OK: what I did just then was to copy/paste into WordPad, then copy/paste a fresh version from WordPad into the WoW field.
For some reason that eliminated the Amazon icon issue....?????

Sometime back we changed the Forum to resize images so that they may be opened in a new window. It appears that whatever you copied got resized and the image holds the URL. When you cursor over your Amazon image you will see the URL...if you click on the image it will take you to the full page...

Does this help...?

Nope. I lie. it did it again between what I see on my screen and what shows up here. What a p.i.t.a.
"When you cursor over your Amazon image you will see the URL...if you click on the image it will take you to the full page..."

Nope. Nada. The only cursering is what you can't hear...

Sounds right...it saw the first as an image and thumbnailed it...with Wordpad, there was no image and it pasted the URL text...

How did you get to the Amazon page...? Did you click on an ad...? that brought you to the Amazon page...?

If so, the URL maintained the original information and passed it to Amazon. If you hold the cursor over the image you will see a long URL but if you were to go to Amazon by Amazon.com and look for the same item, you will see a much shorter URL...if you copy/paste that it will show up in your post as a hyperlink like you intended...

Nope. I did a specific search (DuckDuckGo) for whatever it was that i was looking for. I'll try it again right now, at Amazon
If i remember it was 'The Peter Principle' that i was looking for.

OK; that's trying it both ways, above. Now I'll try a 'Snipit' screenshot of what i see in my WoW typing field...Image
