Sketchup...is it still free...?

#1

Post by Nickp »

After many/lots/crumbled :D pencil and paper sketches for laying out the shop and for a design for a cabinet/assembly/outfeed for the 4100, I'm beginning to see the advantages for Sketchup. Yes...I'm headed for the dark side... :o

As I searched for a download of Sketchup I am left with the impression that it is not free any longer. Or you get a free trial and in the middle of using it, I get an upgrade message of sorts. There also seems to be older versions (that ask you for an upgrade) and newer versions...

Yes...I am a bit confused and all of a sudden lost...

The question for you guys that use Sketchup, where do I go to download a copy that resides on my 'puter ...?

Nope...didn't work...your version still tries to go out and upgrade to PRO or Make...

...and getting past that, the 3D warehouse is not available unless you upgrade...

...got any Sketchup users out there...?

My 2015 still works even though it wants to know if I want to upgrade. I tried to learn it for a while but I didn't keep at it and forgot most of what I had learned.

Yes...but no access to 3D Warehouse for prepared objects and shapes. So all it lets you make is squares, rectangles, circles, etc...

I think most of those ready made object files are for a price whether it be electrical, plumbing, wiring, mechanical construction, or what have you.

I can explain it to you but I can't UNDERSTAND it for you!
Wait a moment, let me overthink it.!
