Well, No Bunny, But...

... But, I got Ken on the Linen Closet Project! YAY!!

Little did I realize when we bought our little house, my linen closet was a smelly hole in the wall. I told Ken I wanted it torn down to the studs, and the walls replaced. After Ken got the shelves and braces out, nope. Can't be done. (Long story.) Anyway, we found that when the closet was made, the corners of the walls (near the door) didn't meet. The smell was coming from behind the walls, (we're thinking old wood, house was made in '53, after all.) No, it's not a mold, it's just like old wood, that got old and stinky. It stunk up my sheets and towels. It was awful!

Ken got busy and filled in the corners, we went with new shelves (the old ones were wood, covered by contact paper, and then some fool took flat white paint and painted over the contact paper! Who the H*LL does that??!!!) ANYway-we picked out new shelves, and decided to change the color from white to coordinate with the rest of the house. Now mind you, the picture doesn't do the colors justice, but the final result:

There has to be a reason for the smell and it might be worth trying to track down to see if there is a problem you didn't know about. Nice job by the way.

Old D. Fir can get pretty stinky; sort of like cat pee. Not sure why some D. Fir lumber gets that way and some doesn't(?)...

Maybe the closet was used for something else before you bought the house.
