Bread cutting bow
Having seen one in operation at a local restaurant I'm looking for a set of drawings/dimensions for a bow shaped bread knife. I can easily guesstimate the dimensions but all suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Re: Bread cutting bow
there are a bazillion different types, styles and sizes...
this one is 15" L x 2½" W (blade 11" L x ½")
the blade size controls the dimensions...

@Stick486
Thanks Stick. I found a source for the knives and plan to pick up a couple to work from.
So, as they say, watch this space.

Re: Bread cutting bow
I finally made one. According to SWMBO it works very well on crusty breads and banquets. So, I promptly gave it away to the friend who on seeing one in use said " if you ever make one of those I would like to have it". He was like a little kid with a new toy. Next week we get to count his fingers. Of course I now have to make another one for SWMBO. Oh well, not much else going on this week.
The piece of white plastic is from an old report binder. It only needed to be shortened a bit and it works very well for protecting the blade and you from the blade.

@Herb Stoops
The attached photo shows part of the blade. They are from KenCraft Co, Inc. (kencraftcompany.com) of Toledo. Their description is for Bow Bread Knife Blade, stainless steel, 10 5/8" long. 5 of them with shipping came to 35$.
They are sharp.
Cheers
