My son sent me a video of some one building a chair with ropes for the supports. I thought it looked cool, but don't want to make one.
I did use the idea and make this little box. Took me a minute to figure out how this thing works.
Makes a nice conversation starter.
Maybe some one can turn them straight. Don't know why it came out this way, they are straight on my computer.

They pictures straighten out when I click on them. I've had this picture saved to my downloads. Been leaving it there as a reminder to try it some day.

I was just telling Sandra that if I made a chair like this, I would place the counter strings at each side to balance it better, and here you had this all the time.
I just might made a table like that.
just not sure where i would put it
Maybe in Sandra's gym..hmmmm.

Not sure how rigid it will be. I'm thinking it is going to have some sway to it. Won't know until we try it.

Re: String art.
I thought that also. I would have to make it out of wood since I don't do welding. I would have to change the way the supports are made to be sure they would hold it up. Maybe with 45 degree angles where the arms are 90 degrees in the picture.
Let me know if you decide to make one. I will too.
Just to see how they turn out.
BTW The chains may be a good idea too.

Re: String art.
I can guarantee you it will swing. The side chains prevent the top from flipping over onto one side or the other but that's all they can do. If you added two more chains at each end in an X pattern that would stop it from swinging, or at least come close. In fact, you might only need the X chains.

Re: String art.
I thought that maybe leave it as is and add an X to the remaining two sides. The front and the rear.
