I am stumped too. I think it is a pull plane, but the 2 sets of handles have me baffled.

Re: Vintage Planes V.6
OK after further review, I came accross an article about these style planes. They were Belt makers planes, for making/ repairing the drive belts in the factories.

RE: Edit, They also had a floor layers plane that was similar.

Re: Vintage Planes V.6
The chamfer plane is definitely unusual. The one above it looks like it's either aluminum or stainless steel sole.

Re: Vintage Planes V.6
Sure looks like Aluminum, Aluminum tends to leave black streaks when rubbed against wood. SS is a better choice.
On the Chamfer Plane I did not know what it was, the sole looks like the point of a farmers plow.

Looks like aluminum to me too but I thought maybe I'm wrong because it would leave black marks like you say. Maybe it was just made for show.Herb Stoops wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:44 pm Sure looks like Aluminum, Aluminum tends to leave black streaks when rubbed against wood. SS is a better choice.
