They are just too young to die. Sad. I remember when I was their age, and in the service, I was so proud to be there.

Brings back memories of my last day in Vietnam as we took off from Long Bien air base in a Braniff airline plane and flew over the jungle trying to get altitude. No one said a word until we could see the ocean below us. Then the cheers went up.

ONE.. Because there's only one of me...
the wife wouldn't go w/ me because she felt it would be too depressing for her..
she feared nightmares...

that's what happened to her after we visited Dachau...

MIne would not go to Dachau.
I have been there a couple of times.
While travelling around Europe for 7 months, we visited many military cemetaries, , American, French and German. Both WW1 and WW2

visiting some of these sites should be required by the wastetoids of today...
it would be a wake up call or a melt down for them.... something they sorely need...

I visit my wife in the military cemetery close to me, every once in awhile to make sure she is still there.

While travelling around Europe, I began to notice a trend. People arriving at the parking lots near Military Cemetary's would become quiet as they walked into the grave areas. even the kids, and if they were not, the parents straightened them out quickly.

My first wife was a French girl, she was a young girl during the war and remembers the Germans coming to her town. Her dads name is engraved on the town square memorial of the war.
