In an earlier life I used XPS extruded faced rigid foam board to insulate metal overhead doors... it works really well... R-5 per ½"...
When I went to purchase some - WHEW!!!
one is I couldn't find it and 2nd was the price of it will give you a nose bleed... special order plus S&H...
looks like I need a plan ''B''... what are y'all doing or have done to your OH shop doors???
@Nickp, didn't you just do yours???
thanks folks...

Mine was a factory insulated door, installed that way.

Mine is a dark brown door. It is south facing and puts off a good amount of heat when the sun is shining on it. Never insulated it.

I used this stuff...picked it up in HD...came in a box tight like wall insulation, did both doors with it...already cut and pre-measured. Used some wood slats to hold it in as I didn't like the poke-thru-sticky-buttons-thingies...R-8...works like a champ...

Yes, rolls up...both doors are same width...10' I believe. The insulation panels are precut for 54" widths and fit perfectly vertical and horizontal.

Nothing, I close it if it is cool out, and open it if it is warm.
