Hanging Window Herb Garden...

Post by Stick486 »

I like to cook...
I like fresh spices/herbs for the dishes...
It's winter and nothing wants to grow outdoors...
A buddy suggested I grow the spices and herbs in the window...

.
Of course it had to evolve....
Added twin sheave block and tackle on each end for suspension to get convenient working heights...
There's no reason fixed rope, macrame, chain, all thread or cable couldn't be used instead...
Added a a pair of stiffeners along the long edges to counter the sagging...
Tapered the holes for the pots w/ a chamfer bit for a nice fit just because...
Doubled walled the pots... Sleeved the terracotta plant pots w/ no leak plastic sleeves to stop the drips...

Good looking way to do it. Keeps them and the mess off the windowsill.

That's a nice and practical solution. What are you growing?

When you mentioned pot and plant in the same sentence I had something entirely different in mind... ;)
