As usual, I'm full of ideas and wants, but it's a matter of getting out there and getting things cut, then finished.
I have quite a few WIP's,(still needing the finishing touches) but very little completed projects. I found a Christmas bulb display stand I fell in love with, got one cut, and showed to John (honestjohn) and he ended up finding the CNC plan, and cutting 13 of them for me. Of course he had to rub in about how it took him 20 minutes to cut one on his machine, where it takes me almost an hour (between blade breaks) and accuracy.
We picked them up Saturday, and Sunday we finished cutting them out. Ken is the sander, so he'll be busy working on that. I spent a lot of the time organizing and cleaning Sunday. I've been trying my hand at making some templates to (hopefully) speed up the process on some of the items I want to make. That's turned extremely messy using MDF as the (temporary) material. Using MDF, my air filter has been on high mode, and I've worn my 100% filters from 3M on my mask, and the noise from using the up spiral bit is enough to wake the dead, so the ear protection has also been a necessity. So after getting the shop cleaned up a bit, and Ken and I did some brain storming on placement of things, I finally got a couple things cut. No sanding or staining/painting, but I got a start - these were all on the scroll and band saw. Still using my wintergreen transfer process I got from Richard from the old forums; have yet to find anything better. Scroll saw has been givin me the blues with its' antics, but I was able to cut out a few things. Hopefully this weekend, I'll get more items done.
