That is a unique idea ,diagonal cutting a block so that the grain runs lengthwise and shows a natural rough edge. Good job on the carving too.

That's a 5/4 x 12 x 16 oak board that's been "carved".

I think you are on to something. Looks like bark when you are done, but is more stable.

Nice work John . My favourite is the one with the dark bark , maybe because of the contrast

Edit : took me a second to realize that’s not bark ,but the cnc carved it :geek:
