That is some real craftsmanship. I saw an episode of Mike Holmes years ago where he had a contractor of Eastern European origin who was replacing or repairing a front steps/entry way and he was staining as he went. It's always neat to watch a real craftsman work.

Two observations about that job. One is that it is very shiny. They must have put some type of glaze on to protect it. Also that it looks very smooth as in greased glass type of smooth if it was raining.

Beautiful, but too slippery for this neck of the woods. A frosty morning, or rainy one might cause a crack....skull!
Also we have to include expansion strips every 4'-8' or we get cracks in concrete patios. I prefer a fine-medium broom finish and a slight slope to let the water run off.

Did you mix the color into the concrete,or did it come from the truck that way? Just a skim coat?

some CC is ordered pre-colored... big humongous surcharge...
mostly it's powdered dyes applied to the finished CC while the CC is still plenty wet...

That's how the guy was doing it that I saw on Mike Holmes. He got the cement smooth then sprinkled the powder on and troweled it in. He may have sprinkled a little water on too. It's been a while since I saw that episode.

I have seen them do that too, Chuck. I have also seen it several years later and it looks a little shabby, chips and worn spots.
When I was down in Oregon years ago they had those pink highways made from lava aggregate ,I think.
