Simple Wood/Plywood Clamps

I guess these could fall in the jig category. I use them to hold various things that would or could be a problem without the benefit of something holding them (e.g., carving, drilling, band saw work, etc.).

Because they're wood or plywood, I use them to hold parts for band saw work, drilling and so on. Hitting a blade or bit with the doesn't damage the bits and blades.

All of the ones in the photos are from scraps and use various bolts or allthread for the pivot point.

They are easy to make and very handy to have at stations around the shop. I posted the details for making them on the Instructables web site at:

Great idea and the price is right. The only thing I might do differently is add another hole closer to the pivot for when force is less important than reach.
