Haven't heard from you for quite awhile, what are you working on, that you need silicone?

We refer to that as a glue gun. The sticks that go in it are thermoplastic glue. The yellower the sticks are in color, the stronger they bond. They also usually require more heat and set quicker.
Chuck, I didn't know it either, but they do have silicone sticks for hot glue guns.Cherryville Chuck wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 11:58 amWe refer to that as a glue gun. Herb Stoops wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 1:04 pmThey mention silicone sticks and then they refer to them as just hot melt. I did a quick search to see if I could find actual silicone based sticks and I couldn't. It may just be a terminology issue like rabbet/rebate or torch/flashlight. I looked on the website of Henkel who specialize in making hot melt glues and they list about a half dozen formulations of thermoset glues but none of which are silicone based.Cherryville Chuck wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 11:58 am

As for the guns, I've had a few and all seemed about equal. They all tend to drip when they are parked in a stand. Having some kind of stand is a bonus.
