Anyone currently doing metal work?
As in fabrication or custom work?
I'm looking to either have made or find a source for a MT2 tapered shaft with a 5/8" end to mount a sanding disk onto.
TIA

Looks like the M2 shanks run around $20. You will have to make your own flat disk to mount the sanding disk on out of wood or Corian.

There are a lot of M2 (and Jacobs) shafts for sale with various ends on them. You might be able to combine something. I tried an M2 that I could attach a 3/4" drill chuck into. The idea was to chuck it in my lathe and turn small spindles, etc with it. That didn't work out as it was too out of balance. I am able to mount it in the tail stock for drilling so it isn't a total loss.
You might consider getting an arbor mounted on pillow block bearings. They can be bought with a 5/8 threaded end on them. I have one in fact.
