Gonna do a few different variations of this one just to see what happens. Cut from 5/4 oak - about 15 x 16. Been busy doing a custom job for a Orthodox church around Chicago. Don't know how they got my name, but I asked no questions. Also took a week off and went on a cruise with daughter, SIL, and my little buddy. Papa and Little Dude put a dent in the pizza and ice cream kiosk. We were a sight - 74 and 5 having a blast together. I think Grandma had a good time too. I should ask her. Also did the initial Xrays today to see if I have to have a hip replacement. This gettin' old ain't for the weak at heart.

Another good one,John. How long does it take to do one of those? Do you make more than one? Where do you find the patterns?

Time depends on the size and type of machine and settings. This one was about 12 x14 finished cut area. Took about 3 hours total. Files are readily available online worldwide. Or, with the right software program, such as Aspire (which I use), you can make your own models. I prefer to cut as opposed to create files. But, once you have a file you can make as many as you want and intertwine the components to create an endless string of designs. I usually make at least 2 of everything, and sometimes 3 or 4 to place in my displays and Etsy store. I also have made "one offs" just to see how it'll turn out or because I think a certain piece of wood would match up with a file. I also create an almost endless supply of firepit fuel with the scraps and screw ups. Not enough time to do everything I really want to - plus play retiree. Keeps the mind busy and the body active. Plus it almost pays for itself.
