Had a lady ask if I could make a custom Polish Eagle. Since I'm the Polish Eagle King I said "of course I can". Turns out she wants a gift for her husband - a similar piece his grandmother had from the Old Country. Being the sucker I am for a sob story from a damsel in distress and not one that usually turns down a challenge - within reason of course - I said I'd try thinking a few minor adjustments and bingo. Turns out all she had was an old pic and said "Please try". Obviously this was hand carved several generations ago, probably even before Grandma's time. After some teeth nashing on my end I got some (a lot) help from BeltraMiDave and ended up with what I hope she'll like.
Finished piece is 3/4 oak about 10 x 17.
