In a previous lifetime,a lady asked me to make her a frame for a folding privacy screen, that she could cover with fabric. so I made her this one.

I made the dovetails on my router table with the largest dovetail bit I had.
I clamped all 6 side rails together and removed the fence and clamped the bunch to the cross fence on my sliding table and cut the dovetail on all 6 across at one time. Then moved to the center and did the same, and moved to the other end and made the last cut. So it took 3 cuts to do those.
The short ones I stood up and ran along the fence cutting each side, then the opposite end. it took 4 cuts total for each spreader.

The reason I used the dovetails spreaders was because when they do the fabric, they have to remove them to drape fabric the over them. At least that was what I was told. I drilled through the rails into the end of the spreaders so screws can be installed after the fabric to lock the spreaders in place.

Great idea...and pretty simple for them to deal with...just disassemble and reassemble. Easier than putting up curtains...!

I also was 'requested' to make a screen, by SWMBO about 15 yrs ago...(read that how you will ;) ).
It's been used ONCE! It just sits there taking up space and gathering dust.

That looks really nice,Dan. The one I made still doesn't have the fabric on it yet,as far as I know and resides in the garage.its only 7 yo. Maybe yours would make a spray booth in the shop?

Visitors are not permitted in the shop; our insurance denies any liability for resulting injuries... ;)
