Electronic angle cubes

Does anyone know if these angle cubes can be adjusted??

I have 2, one form Igauging & the other from Tavtool, a Chinese company. Not that same as Taylor Tools. Sorry for the wrong info. (Edited to correct the name of company).

When I put them on my 45/45/90 triangle both cubes read different #s
Both from each other and also from what direction I'm measuring the 45

I have checked the cubes against all 3 of my 45/45/90 triangle & my Bridge City 45 angle square and they're off. Sometimes by a couple of degrees and other times only a fraction of a degree.

FWIW, IIRC, the Igauging claims to be accurate to a 1/10 of degree and the Taytools to .02 degrees. Again, IIRC.

Thoughts??

Without going out to my shop to check, i could have sworn there was some sort of zeroing adjustment on mine(?).

Smitty...you might know this already...there is generally a zero button on the cube...it might need to be held in for a bit to steady out. That will become the new relative zero...you've probably done this already...?

The idea is to zero it on the surface of the table saw, or whatever other device you're planning on using it on, then measure the desired angle.

I use one on the boat...zero it at the dock and then watch it to trim for my optimum running angle...

I called Igauging and they claim there is an adjustment procedure.
He will email me the procedure today (hopefully)

Yes, the reading are out after "zeroing" out and zeroing out the relative angle (?)

Just for interest's sake, Smitty, compare the Tiltbox re-calibration procedure with IGauging's when you get it. Curious to see if they're similar procedures(?).

I think mine might be an igaging one too. I'd have to go look. It has a rechargeable battery that you hook up to a USB cable to charge. It must be pretty accurate because I set my saw with a heavy glue line rip blade on it and sliced through a couple of cracked glue lines on a 3' by 2' cutting board counter top. They went back together without any gaps so it had to be pretty much dead on to do that.

Yes,90 degrees vertical mine are close to being spot on. The 45 angles leave something to be desired

I got the e mail yesterday. When I opened it there were 2 pages mashed together. Was waiting till today to print it & then scan it back to my computer to see if the thing can be made more legible.

Smitty...the importance of calibrating on a level surface is for the future when you want to use it as a true level. Remember that whatever surface you calibrate it on will be the future "level"...if that is not important to you and you only want to use it for tool angle alignment, then any surface will be good enough as the alignment will be between your starting surface (saw top) and your blade.
