Messed up the mortising machine today

I got a new (used) mortising machine and tried it out yesterday. After printing the manual and adjusting the bits and such, I worked successfully to bore 8 mortises successfully. Today, fired it up again to do the last 6 and the first half inch, the motor stalled. Dang. Determined that the chips jammed on the drill bit. So unplugged, took out the bits and cleaned them out and put back in and did the fussy set up. Plugged back in and motor did not kick on. It would turn the bit by hand though. Looked all over for a reset button and found none. Opened up the electric box and none there. Did I blow a circuit breaker or GFCI? Switched the power bar off and on and still nothing, even though the power bar pilot light was on. Double checked all the above and still nothing. Bummed in that I ruined the thing after using it just once. I had a ROS sitting there. Decided to plug it in and see if it ran. What?! It was plugged in already. Found the plug for the mortiser and plugged it in and all is well.

...and yet another case of mistaken identity... :D

So the good thing in all this is that you unplugged the machine to work on it...kudos for that...!

And now you know the motor needs better electrical protection. :)

But the question is, did you get the rest of the mortises cut?

Yes, all cut, tenons cut and fit, rails sanded, and glued up this morning.
