So I decided it was time to get myself a new stud finder...knuckle is getting sore...
After checking the usual suspects (reviews, youtube, etc) I decided on the Franklin 710+...
Just came in and have been running around the house checking walls...works very well. It is much more intuitive than others I've had, most recently the Zircon. No need to find the edge in one direction, then the other. The Franklin has 13 sensors and as you move it over a stud the sensors light according to where the stud is...sweet...

Seeing both edges simultaneously is a big plus. Does it locate electrical wiring like my Zircon does?
Depends...it doesn't detect current in the wires. It does detect wires if they're big enough to create an "inconsistency". I detected wires when they were by themselves in the wall but if they're attached to a stud it might or might not show it as a bigger stud. Normally it lights up three lights for a stud...the studs that I know have a drop down to a box sometimes lights up four lights.
Don't piss off old people. The older we get the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent !
I suppose that works well enough. If one stud is 3 lights then a double stud would be 6 so 4 would be a giveaway that there is something else there that is not a stud.
