Sharpening cabinet scrapers

Eventually cabinet scrapers will stop forming a hook and need to be jointed, filed flat, and re-burnished. Lee Valley sells a file holder for doing the jointing and it does make the job much easier. Using it and a link to Lee Valley for the tool can be found in this topic: http://workersofwood.com/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=506 Burnishing can be accomplished several ways. LV sells a variable burnisher which accurately puts a chosen angle on the edge. They also sell several hand held burnishers, one for under $10. I've also heard of people using the smooth part of round files to burnish with. As long as whatever it is is smooth and harder than the scraper it should work ok.
