Herb liked it, so I will post a couple more pics.
I dont normally do "work in progress" pictures because i dont work from plans and the items can change shape several times before completion, and sometimes even make it to the wood burner pile. But this one is so different to what I normally make I have several pics.

I didnt think to take a pic of the beautiful plank when I first bought it home, this is whats left after I had made the shelves from half of it

I didnt have enough to make it free standing so it had to be corner mounted.
The design was freehand, with a couple of false starts before I cut the sides, but I made all the mistakes on a plywood template because of the cost of this wood.

Then I made the lower height shelf legs with half lap joints and dowels

The two sections are jointed with a full length lock mitre bit

The shelves are held down with dowels and glue

And then I made an angular supporting bracket for the top shelf because I knew a lot of weight was going to be resting on it.

Its attached to the wall with one screw at the top and is very stable.
This is it before being fixed to the wall.




Some of the pics have turned sideways from my laptop view, if someone could amend them I would be grateful.

I corrected the original bottom picture Bob and added the 4th one in corrected mode after the rest. In order to show them in correct orientation I have to copy the disoriented one and then make a copy of it in the proper orientation and replace your file with the corrected one. The only problem I have with doing that is I can't always be certain which file I'm replacing and I could wind up deleting the wrong one. If you see before your 30 minute edit time limit is up you can do the same thing I do to correct them.

Did you take them with your phone Bob and did you take some with the phone in portrait mode and others in landscape? I take all my pictures now with my phone since my old camera doesn't want to transfer pictures any more. Some of mine have to be corrected and I think that's why.

Chuck, no, I use my canon digital camera on all my woodwork projects because I'm aware of the mobile "wrong way syndrome"

It seems to be a software issue with this type of message board as I am on a similar UK site using the same and that also has bad hair days with orientation.
If it happens again I shall have to edit them.

Herb, although it does stand up by itself, the top shelf is so heavy and over balanced that even if nothing was on it the thing would blow over in even a small breeze. But it is strong enough that it only needed one fixing point high up under the shelf.

Good to know Bob. Then the only suggestion I have is to copy the disoriented file as I do and orient it properly and replace the wrong one. RF had similar issues and there appears to be no logical explanation for now.
