Nice. And yet we think we're doing it better now for some reason. On a slightly different note, have you ever seen a wooden plane like that that has a metal chip breaker like a metal bodied plane but with a wooden wedge to hold them in place? I bought an Alexe Mathieson one a few weeks ago like that. The iron is thicker at the tip than the end like wooden plane blades are supposed to be and the body, chip breaker, and iron are all stamped with the Mathieson and Sons logo. I thought it was hodge-podged together until I saw that.

Even has a couple of screw eyes to hang is up, or maybe to hitch it to a horse to move it around .
