I’m getting my guitar making business started. Starting small right now, but when I can put a larger machine together I’ll be able to actually build everything.

This unemployment thing has made everything kinda complicated.

Yes -- I've got some pretty amazing instruments.. One that I'm particularly fond of is a 1986 Martin M-36 -- kind of a rare bird.

Hello guys! My CNC machine is coming, hopefully in about 2-3 weeks, so I'll be leaning on everyone for advice and help. One of my "bucket list" items would be to cut out and assemble a guitar at some point. I found a site that has autocad drawings of guitars but a little pricey but that's okay. I have always wanted to make a Martin clone, maybe the dreadnaught style, but that might be an overwhelming project for a newbie at cnc. I have woodworking skills, but usually in cabinets, boxes, clock housings, etc.

What do you guys think?

Mike:

Do you mean to build an electric or acoustic guitar? Edit: I see you mentioned a Martin D35...

Ive got a Carvewright that I am getting set up to cut the smaller pieces of both electric and acoustic guitars.. when I can afford to do it, I want to get a bigger machine to let me get some of the bigger pieces done.

I need to register my company, too.. Erehwon guitars. It’s been a pipe dream for years... Now that I’m unemployed, I need to start generating some cash.

I've ordered and should have a 48x48 machine in the next few weeks. If I can help you by cutting some of your work and get it to you, I'd be happy to do so at no charge. You'd just have to send me the work. I'm getting an Avid 48x48 so just let me know.

I'm located near the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Aren't you in the Houston area? I'm over there pretty frequently for both medical stuff and work.

I could cut your stuff, multiple copies and bring them over.

I'm on storm duty for work now. I work for an electrical utility in Louisiana. This darned storm is going in almost the same spot as Laura. We had 360+ miles of wires on the ground in that one.

I’ve got a guy champing at the bit for me to make a bunch of necks for him using some of my design specs — if I get desperate I’ll take you up on that!
