Coming Together Little At A Time

#1

Post by OutoftheWoodwork »

We got a three-day weekend for MLK at work, so Ken and I agreed we would spend the entire weekend in hopes of making a big dent in the disaster all over my desks. I made a list of all the things I wanted/needed a "home" for, so a good chunk of time was spent finding ideas I liked, and thought I could integrate into the cleat system. I spent on average 10 or 11 hours a day Sat and Sun. Even ate my meals out there, thanks to Ken. He would cook supper and bring me my plate, so I could continue the designing and creation of everything. He got into the groove of it as well, creating a few for his side of the shop for some of his tools Sunday. Monday ended up being the only day I didn't get any time out in the shop.

I think my favorite one is the cleat I made for my tablet. Every time I go out to the shop now, I'm taking my tablet, and I set it up. Kinda cool being able to use it for instructions, looking things up, etc. and I can have my desktop free for other things. I need to make a modification to it, but that isn't a priority, since it works as it is right now.

With the exception of the clock (and signs, of course), pretty much everything now on the wall were originally on my desks. I still have to make shelves/cleats for the Dremel bits, router bits and sandpaper discs. Did the cleats for the clamps this afternoon, and I'm still doing minor moving around as I use items. Haven't decided if I'm going to leave the bench cookies on the desk yet...

It's the only way I CAN find anything Herb lol Everything now on the walls was at one time on my tables (with the exception of the clock, which was on the window sill). I Still need to get a few more things up on there; paper towel holder, and other things. I want to put something up for my sandpaper discs and the narrow rolls, so I've been scouring the net for ideas. Oh yeah. Still need one for my router and rotary bits, too.

Teddy wouldn't let me go out to the shop without him, and he kept pawing up at me to pick him up, so I put him on the desk.
