I have found a way to take a Zebra F-301 pen and turn it into a 30-06 bullet shell pen.
I have done them in brass but have also plated the brass in Nickel and Copper.
Here are 10 I made just recently.
The brass takes a nice polish and I don't put a finish on them. Eventually they take on the patina of old brass.

Here is a picture of the pen parts with the stainless tube removed.
The primer needs removed and the end drilled to accommodate the business part of the pen. I used a numbered drill for the best fit but will have to look to see what size. The finger grip has to have 3.5 of the ribs turned off down to size to fit into the bullet end. Removing the 3.5 ribs gives it the right length for the pen nib protuberance as the shell is a bit longer than the stainless tube. The shell casing could be shortened to fit but I didn't got that way.
I have done 30-30 and 308 shells which are shorter than the stainless tube and made a spacer to take up the slack.
The plunger and the nib end of the pens are nickel plated brass. I devised a way to mount them in the lathe and sanded them back to brass and polish them. The pocket clip is stainless and I have had to leave the as they are.

IF memory serves me correctly---shell casings pen kits are available from Penn State if someone was so inclined to pursue a shortcut way to make them.
And shell casing themselves can be had at Amazon.
Just putting that out there in case someone stumbles onto this thread in the future.
