3D Puzzle Showcase

#1

Post by HandyDan »

My grandson asked for a showcase to display a Lego 3D puzzle he painstakingly assembled. Started it before Christmas and finally got it done. Here is the assembled puzzle.

Here is the assembled case.

I fretted over how to cut the acrylic and referred to the topic shared here recently and used a negative rake saw blade which was recommended. I had bought a negative rake tooth saw blade for my radial arm saw and kept it when I got rid of it. Put the blade on the table saw and it worked swimmingly. Cut like butter and no chips or breaks even when trimming just a sliver off. The top is removable as is the plastic sheet to aid in the placement of the puzzle.

We'll peel the protective film off the acrylic when the puzzle is placed inside. for reference it's 20"LX13"DX15"H.

That is really cool, Dan. Where did you get the plan, or did you make it up yourself?
Good job he did on the puzzle, how old is he?
Post a picture of when the puzzle is in place. Is it going to be lit?

I just made this up on my own. It looks a little awkward empty. I think once the puzzle is inside I will like it.
My grandson is 18 and just graduated high school and started college this year. Typical for his age he is into video games big time. I was surprised he took to this puzzle. His dad is into jigsaw puzzles. His great grandmother got hum into that.
