Jim Heavy (Wood Magazine) shows off a tapering jig especially meant for 4-way leg tapers. He also explains how it can be used as a "normal" table saw tapering jig or for putting a straight edge on a bowed board...
Like it so much it's on my next project list...

Don't piss off old people. The older we get the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent !

Good one. The hold downs are applicable to a drill press table too.

Re: 4-way Tapering Jig for Table Saw
For my jig, I made it similar to Jim Heavy's jig, but changed his T slots to Dovetails to be used with the Micro Jig dovetail clamps. No gluing or MDF is required, just the 3/4" cabinet grade piece of plywood and a few dovetail clamps.
Position the cut line over the edge of the plywood and clamp it in position with the dovetail clamps, and you cet a perfect cut. Repeat for the other 3 sides and you have a perfect 4 sided tapered leg. I have grown to love the MicroJig Dovetail clamps and have adopted many of my hold-down needs to use them. I have 3 pair now.
