Great idea...! When I put a piece of tape on a drill bit for depth control it blows the sawdust all over the place...and I would think "what a PITA, now I gotta clean that mess up". Who'da thunk it was a good thing...

Based on the photo I see that as an alternative when the bit is too large to work with the classic plastic housing that captures the dust for the vac system. At least worth a try.
