And if it is broke get rid of it. I had a craftsman and it got so the bands would not stay on it and I took it apart ,what a piece of junk that was, flimsy plastic wheels. I paid nearly $35. years ago for it and it was near new at the time. That was the best money I ever spent on a piece of crap. All I can say good about it is it looked good when it wasn't running.

I heard years ago that those 3 wheeled band saws were hard to get the blade to track properly. Is that true?

They were a hobbyists tools at best and max blade width was 3/8", most had 1/4" wide or narrower blades. The wheels on mine were plastic and really narrow, and trying to track blades on 3 wheels is a chore. Their selling point was depth of cut on a small machine.
