Where I used to live, there was a powerline like that behind my property. When I would take my boat out,I used the powerline road and one time it was raining ,when I unlocked the gate, I got a tingling in my wet hands on the padlock. Another time during hot weather ,one night I took a T-8 florescent tube out and standing under the powerline held it up and rotated it, it lit up.

When I was a teen, there was a power line right-of-way near my home that one of my buddy's used as a sort-of short cut to get to my house. He always brought a fluorescent tube with him so he could see where he was going when walking back home in the dark. For a while there was talk around town about strange lights moving along the power line right-of-way. I guess some members of the town had seen his light from a distance and did not know about what happens when you put a fluorescent tube near a high voltage source. One day we found a whole box of 8' tubes in a dumpster, and got a bunch of friends together to walk the right-of-way that night with them. The cops showed up, and we had some explaining to do, but they let us go once they understood what we were doing. I guess they didn't have a law making this illegal, but technically, we were trespassing on the power line property.

The one we had was between 2 housing developments, and had a circular path 1 mile long and was the community excercise path. It kept it mowed so I could get my boat out to the hiway. I also contained our community blackberry patch.

Marie was in the kitchen fiddling around when she hollers out.... "Boudreaux, you need to go out and fix da outhouse!"
Boudreaux replies, "Dere ain't nuthin wrong wid da outhouse."
Marie yells back, "Yes dere is; now git out dere and fix it."
So.......Boudreaux mosies out to the outhouse, looks around and yells back, "Marie dere ain't nuthin wrong wid dis outhouse cher! "
Marie replies, "Stick yur head in da hole!"
Boudreaux yells back, "I ain't stickin my head in dat hole!"
Marie says, "Ya have to stick yur head in da hole to see what to fix."
So with that, Boudreaux sticks his head in the hole, looks around and yells back,"Marie - Dere ain't nuthin wrong with dis outhouse!"
Marie hollers back, "Now take your head out of da hole!"
Boudreaux proceeds to pull his head out of the hole, and then starts yelling, "Marie - Help! My beard is stuck in da cracks in da toilet seat!"
To which Marie replies, "Hurts, don't it?"

This reminds me of the day my young son came home from working on a farm for our friend Larry.
I ask what they had worked on and he said, they were driving steel fence post all day and tomorrow, they would be stringing wire.
Took me a moment to get my head wrapped around that, since our friend Larry is almost completely blind.
Turns out, my son was the post holder while Larry was driving the post.
After much questioning, we finally deciphered that they were using a fence post driver.
That was not my first mental picture of them building fence.
