Re: Vintage Pencil Sharpener
It has a crank on the side, I wonder if the crank turns the pencil? or if it is just to go along with the design.Cherryville Chuck wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:30 pm That's cute. I've never seen one like that before.

Re: Vintage Pencil Sharpener
I'm willing to bet the crank has nothing to do with the sharpening...I'm thinking you put the pencil in and turn the pencil...

You are probably right, the cutting blade looks to be a fixed blade. Even has a dust collector port on top.... LOL

Re: Vintage Pencil Sharpener
Since the shavings could be an indication that it simulates a planer, it might be appropriate to connect a 2-stage cyclonic high-cfm large duct collection system. Now to find the right adapters...Herb Stoops wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 12:40 amYou are probably right, the cutting blade looks to be a fixed blade. Even has a dust collector port on top.... LOL

That is pretty cool it is always interesting to see some of the things that were made out of cast iron. Before the age of pot metal and plastics.

There's an even better one, though the prices have gone up.

Re: Vintage Pencil Sharpener
Yeah, I have one that I bought in college in 1970 or so. It still puts a wicked sharp on a pencil.
