Herb liked it, so I will post a couple more pics.
I dont normally do "work in progress" pictures because i dont work from plans and the items can change shape several times before completion, and sometimes even make it to the wood burner pile. But this one is so different to what I normally make I have several pics.
I didnt think to take a pic of the beautiful plank when I first bought it home, this is whats left after I had made the shelves from half of it .
I didnt have enough to make it free standing so it had to be corner mounted.
The design was freehand, with a couple of false starts before I cut the sides, but I made all the mistakes on a plywood template because of the cost of this wood. Then I made the lower height shelf legs with half lap joints and dowels The two sections are jointed with a full length lock mitre bit The shelves are held down with dowels and glue
And then I made an angular supporting bracket for the top shelf because I knew a lot of weight was going to be resting on it.
Its attached to the wall with one screw at the top and is very stable.
This is it before being fixed to the wall.
Some of the pics have turned sideways from my laptop view, if someone could amend them I would be grateful.
